Every year it takes hundreds of volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals each week during the summer. Some people get their food handlers certificate (which can be obtained online at www.efoodcard.com/il ) and these volunteers help serve the food from the trailer. Other volunteers help bag and hand the food to families or help in any other way needed. Some volunteers help drive to the outer locations to deliver food to places like Allendale, Bellmont, and Keensburg. And even still, other volunteers help prep for the next week by sacking lunches! Volunteers must have a background check and fill out a volunteer application!
